Case Study Design Team search challenge – my submission

Hi All,

The folk over at Case Study Design Team  are looking for some new members to join their design team *squeal* ….. so I’ve decided to give it a go and try out myself.

The criteria for this special challenge was to ‘case’ a card from your personal inspirational muse eg a popular card maker that inspires you. It also had to push you a little out of your comfort zone.

I’ve chosen a card from the amazing Kimberly Van Diepen.  I just love her style and I’m always totally in awe of the eclectic way she puts her cards together.  This card is a particular favourite of mine.

I love the colours and the layering… but I also love that Kimberly isn’t afraid to add that bit extra, tiny bits of interest and excitement. Now I’m not sure I could never replicate her total look, so I’ve decided to just get the feel of the card and pick up on little elements. The tiny heart, a bow, the placement of the ‘love’ and of course the colours – just enhanced by my absolute favourite colour Crumb Cake. Here is my card, I hope you like it.

 

I’m a little bit in love with the Soda Pop Tops (they’re so cute), I’ve added a stamped image in the bottom of the Soda Pop top then filled it with Crystal Effects lacquer and added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter for detail.

Female & Mothers day card making class – May 2nd

This is so exciting…. I’ve been playing with the new Stampin’ Up! Framelits ‘Dress Ups‘. It’s super fun – and I’m not embarrassed to say it’s just like being a little girl again dressing up dolls *love it*

Two by two – Watercolour baby card

 

 

Hi Folks,

Here is a little card I made for some dear friends of mine who had their 3rd little baby girl recently. I’ve been so excited about giving this stamp set ‘Two by Two’ a go as I love to watercolour and colour in general. I had lots of fun using my watercolour pencils which are now sadly retiring. *sad face* but I suppose this will just give me more opportunity to play with my markers and blender pens!! A silver lining in every cloud.

An Elegant Butterfly punch birthday party

Hi All,

A few weeks ago it was my ‘big birthday’ – yes my 40th. I had a really wonderful day and I thought I’d share some of the creative elements of the day.

Firstly, I bought these lovely white lanterns and added LOTS of punched out butterflies from a variety of the Stampin’ Up! range of Designer Series Papers. I’ve used 2 punches, the Elegant Butterfly punch #127526 and the Bitty Butterfly punch #129406 both retail for $27.95 each. (If you’d like to order these punches its easy -just click on the shopping cart icon to the left of screen). I’ve just used my trusty hot glue gun to fasten them to the lanterns. Pretty right?

I also wanted a way to capture all of my friends with a photo on the day – so I set my hubby to joining 3 old doors together that we had left over from renovating our house and then I just went to town sticking lots of the butterflies to the doors. Add a few props and some old frames and a ‘photo booth’ was created.

We sure got some wonderful photos – here I am being a bit of a clown before the party started.

This is my favourite photo of the day – by beautiful boys. Love them SO much.

See – paper craft can come in all shapes and forms. I think it was fitting that it played such a staring role in by birthday as Stampin’ Up! and all the friends and wonderful creative times I’ve had have really given me such happiness.
