Secret Garden Invitation – Ex Libris

Hi Everyone,

Today I’d like to share my birthday invitations I made for my 40th birthday. Yes 40! I truly can’t believe I’m 40 but there you go. If you have good health and good luck you get there – I’m lucky to have happiness too so I have the trifecta.

Although I can’t say with any honesty I’m excited about leaving my thirties behind (as they have been very good to me) I thought it was an opportunity celebrate life with a party. I’m having my party at a beautiful garden so the idea of a secret garden party came to me. I knew instantly the stamp set I wanted to use Ex Libris pg 128 of the Australian Stampin’ Up! Catalogue $ 30.95 # 126600. I found some lovely simple keys on Ebay and the rest came together very easily.

I’m loving the current incolours and I’ve used Gumball Green, Island Indigo and a couple of my old favourites Crumbcake and Early Esspresso with a base cardstock of Very vanilla. The butterflies are from the stamp set Papillon Potpourri pg 115 $25.95c 123759.  I’ve also used the splodges from the French Foliage stamp set on pg 86 $27.95c # 121166 for a little bit of an aged effect (like me – LOL).

Its a little hard to see in the photo but I’ve misted some Champagne mist mixed with Isicol rubbing alchohol to make a
shimmer spray which I’ve sprayed on the piece of Very Vanilla (under the key section) and on the butterfly down the bottom that was punched out and raised up on a dimensional.

I hoped you liked them. If you did please leave a comment as it makes sharing my creations just that little bit more fun. I’d also like to get to know some of you out there…so please say hello and tell me where you’re from.

Remember to find my Facebook Fan page too…. I’m adding little hints and tips over there all the time. Love for you to join in and show the love. 🙂

Happy Stamping,

Carolyn x

  1. What an imposter! You could not possibly be 40! This is just an outrageous excuse to party. Hope to see you in Brissy.
