Stampin’ Up!’s Festive Flurry Wine Toppers – a touch of winter for an Australian Christmas

IMG_4498

The Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry Stamp set has been the standout this Christmas season. A great stamp set for your collection to start prepping for next year early and avoid the last minute Christmas card rush.

Here I’ve used Festive Flurry -wood mount #131778 $69.95 / clear mount #131781 $55.95 and the co-ordinating framelits 132193 $42.95. Of course the best way of purchasing the two is in a bundle for just $95.95 in wood #133284 or $83.95 in clear mount #133285.

Stamping Hint : to make using the framelits easy peasy I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Magnetic Platform #130658. Stamp or heat emboss your stamped image and then pop them on Big Shot Magentic Platform sandwiched between the cutting plates- the framelits will stick and not move about when you roll them through the Big Shot – die cutting your images beautifully.

To add the shine and give the project a boost I’ve used white and silver heat embossing powder then melted with the Stampin’ Up! Heat Gun. If you’ve never heat embossed before you are REALLY missing out. It’s just about as much fun you can have in paper craft.

I made these for my husband to give to a couple of work mates… he had enough space on the back for a hand written note as well. A lovely part about these tags is they also double as Christmas Tree decorations for years to come. The gift that continues after the wine is long gone. 🙂

Or even a chocolate box tag……

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well. I finished my gift shopping today (yay!)…. now the house cleaning and food organisation…… oh well. No rest until Christmas right?

Don’t forget to start preparations for Valentines day – take a look at the loved up cuties Stampin’ Up! has on offer …. it comes around so quickly after Christmas.

Color Me Christmas – Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cards for kids

IMG_4488

My 6 and 9 year old sons wanted to give Christmas cards this year to their school friends. Now I know from experience that kids usually get a Chrissy card, rip open the envelope and throw it in their backpacks never to be seen again. With this in mind I knew I need to do something a little bit different.

The Color Me Christmas Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set – wood mount #131742 $35.95 & clear mount #131745 $28.95 is a great one – well worth buying now ready for next years kids cards. I bought the little coloured pencil sets from a cheapy shop and used the great value Seasons of Style paper stacks #132181 for colour and some spotty fun.

Tip: Why not use clear envelopes (#102619 $8.95 for 50)? Shows off your special card keeping it protected and glossy. This way the card may even survive the backpack journey home. 😉

Now the kids will have a fun project to colour and pop on the mantle at home.

Of course my boys didn’t get away with me doing all the work – they each had to write the names and ‘love from’ bits themselves. They enjoy being ‘Stamping Boys’.

Flashback Friday

I’m blowing off the dust and cobwebs and re-visiting some of my ‘historical’ blog entries. Some of them are a tiny bit embarrassing and some timeless – you decide. 🙂

While some stamp sets and products may no longer be available –  the card layout and inspiration remain fun to revisit. Welcome to ‘Flashback Fridays’.

Here’s a post from late last 2012:

Hi All,

Here is another of my designs for the Festive Friday Design Team. This week we had an inspirational photo to help us to create our cards. But for some reason I just can’t load that photo.!! Doh!!!! So you’ll have to scoot over to the Festive Friday blog to see what it looked like. 🙂 You can also see what the rest of the Design Team created and maybe join in the fun and submit a card of your own too!

For my card I’ve used my Greeting Card Kids stamp set from page 14 of the 2012/13 Annual Catalogue. It’s a really fun set to colour and has a nice vintage feel. I used chalks to colour directly on top of the news print designer series paper.

Another fun elements about this card is the speckled effect on the Midnight Muse blue card stock. I’ve used my Illuminate Glimmer Watermark stamp set and directly applied the upside-down pad to the card stock. I had already run the cardstock through the Northern Flurry embossing folder (I’m loving that folder right now). I’ve especially rubbing it over the snowfakes – so shimmery!!!!

A little bit of the Glass Stampin’ Glitter, some circles in(circle punches are sooooooo essential to your basic kit) all sponged with Versa Mark to give some depth.

Hope you like it!!

Happy Stamping

*Tomorrow’s Thursdays 7th Christmas Card class RESCHEDULED for 14th of November*

Hi Ladies,

Unfortunately I’m having to post-pone my Christmas Class this Thursday due to the order I place on Monday the 28th only being shipped yesterday. With the order only being shipped yesterday there is no way the supplies will arrive in time for this Thursday. Apparently there was a ‘glitch’ in shipping on the 28th of October and a lot of orders became delayed. The first time this has ever happened to me!!!! 😦

I’m re-scheduling the 10am and 7.30pm class for next Thursday the 14th. I really hope you can make this date and I apologise for the inconvenience. Please invite your friends and family along as I’ve ordered lots of supplies and have lots of room left.  If you’ve forgotten the details here they are again:
