Card in a box – are you on trend or like me?

Are you the sort of person that has to follow the latest trend? Did you buy bubblegum jeans or hypercolour t-shirts 5 mins after they arrived on the shop? You’re always so cool and on-trend, right? OR are you like me and fight the good fight about NOT being a conformist …….but then end up joining in anyways…. usually when the trend is on the way out?  Yep that’s usually me – but not any more!!!!! Today I’m bringing you the latest trend in the paper craft world now – when it’s HOT – that’s right -Card in a box. IMG_5120So how cute? It folds down for easy postage and then pops up and reveals something really special.

Next time I’ll make sure the sentiment is a little smaller so it doesn’t hang over the edge when folded.

Here’s a few of the items I used to make this little cutie:

Stamp Set:

Flower Shop # 130939 Wood mount #130942 Clear mount

Happy Congratulations # 133044 Wood mount #133047 Clear mount

Card Stock: Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper (free with purchase of $90 or more) #133521  Sweet Sorbet

Email if you have any questions about any other items used 🙂

I was thinking this was going to be a really challenging card to make but guess what? Easypeasy. I followed this tutorial from UK Demonstrator Monica Gale who is simply amazing and an all round sweet heart. (If you’re not following her blog you totally should.) Here we are at last years Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation in Utah showing the love.

So this card is actually for my beautiful niece Courtney and her wonderful new fiancée Michael who are starting out their lives together and who got engaged on New Years eve. I wanted to make her something special and therefore this card has taken a little longer then expected (*yikes*) but it is now on it’s way to her in the mail – along with a little gift. 😉 Congratulations Hon!!

Remember it’s Sale-A-Bration time.. any order of $90 or more will earn you a FREE product from the exclusive Sale-A-Bration range. You can either order by emailing me or just head on over to my online store and order there.

Now, I’m off to buy those bubblegum jeans and a hypercolour t-shirt- they’re still trendy aren’t they???? LOL.

Wedding Invitations – Fun Flowers

My beautiful niece Kayla is getting married next month and I was really excited and honoured to make her wedding invitations for her and her fiancee.

I provided her with a range of samples and from those we created the invites together. (I’ll share those in time to come). I think creating wedding invitations really to be a joint creative process as every bride has likes and dislikes and at the end of the day they are her invitations and reflect her style and the tone she wants to set for her big day. So I can’t take full creative credit for these as the are very defiantly a joint creation with myself and Kayla.

Kayla wanted 100 invitations!! *faint* So she was also obliged 😉 to help in the mass creation. It took us 4 evenings to make them all and a very enjoyable 4 evenings they were. I loved spending that time with her just sitting and chatting and paper crafting.

The design is simple and classy and of course all the products are Stampin’ Up!  The flower is in Whisper White card stock and made using the Fun Flowers Bigz L die rolled through my trusty Big Shot Die cutting Machine. The ribbon is 3.2m Taffeta Ribbon in Black and the ‘belly band’ is in beautiful Brushed Silver card stock with the back of the Invitation is in Shimmery White . A Rhinestone in the centre of the flower is a simple and elegant finishing touch.

Once you slide off the belly band and open up the invitation, this is the inside view:

Must have products …

Big Shot Die Cutting Machine $149.95

Fun Flowers Bigz L $55.95

Sent me questions and place your orders by emailing me. You could be making your next party invitations or even your wedding invitations too!

Happy Paper Crafting,

Midnight Inklings Team Swaps – ‘Scrunching and Tearing’

Here is the last of the Midnight Inklings team swaps. For this swap the theme was Scrunching and Tearing paper. I just love what the girls all came up with .

This first card is my contribution. I’ve been inspired by one of the amazing Teneale Williams cards. I’ve taken some elements directly from her card and then other bits I’ve changed up and around to suit me.  I really discovered a new love when I made this card…… Calypso Coral – one of our new Incolors. It looks to purdy when you smooch it with the Whisper White Craft Inkpad and then stamp over the top with Calypso Coral. Doesn’t it look suede like? I made this card for a lovely friend of mine who I’m thinking about often at the moment. A super strong and beautiful lady.

The stamp set I’ve used is one of the stamps from one of the new Hostess Sets ‘Simply Soft ‘ for the main image and then the ink spots from the stamp set ‘French Foliage’ for an aged effect. I even go out my sewing machine for the boarder! Well that was until I broke my last needle. Doh!

This next card is from the very talented Lynne Jones….. how cute is that layout??!!

A striking use of Designer Series paper on this one by Natalie Ewart…… Simple elegance.

This one was fabo from Lisa Roberts…. I just love your ribbon and button treatment here Lisa.

Look out for our next swap with the theme ‘Black and White’. We’ll also have our latest team member Chris Parker-Barnes joining in on the swaps too. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

Remember – if you would like to receive all of your Stampin’ Up! purchases at 20% off AND join in all the fun of the Midnight Inklings team meetings, swaps and technique sessions – drop me an email or call me on 0401 857748 for more information on becoming a Stampin’ Up!
