Case Study Design Team search challenge – my submission

Hi All,

The folk over at Case Study Design Team  are looking for some new members to join their design team *squeal* ….. so I’ve decided to give it a go and try out myself. 🙂

The criteria for this special challenge was to ‘case’ a card from your personal inspirational muse eg a popular card maker that inspires you. It also had to push you a little out of your comfort zone.

I’ve chosen a card from the amazing Kimberly Van Diepen.  I just love her style and I’m always totally in awe of the eclectic way she puts her cards together.  This card is a particular favourite of mine.

I love the colours and the layering… but I also love that Kimberly isn’t afraid to add that bit extra, tiny bits of interest and excitement. Now I’m not sure I could never replicate her total look, so I’ve decided to just get the feel of the card and pick up on little elements. The tiny heart, a bow, the placement of the ‘love’ and of course the colours – just enhanced by my absolute favourite colour Crumb Cake. 🙂 Here is my card, I hope you like it.

I’m a little bit in love with the Soda Pop Tops (they’re so cute), I’ve added a stamped image in the bottom of the Soda Pop top then filled it with Crystal Effects lacquer and added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter for detail.

Festive Friday #43 Product Challenge

This weeks Festive Friday challenge is all about the Simply Scored tool… a really handy tool I must say.

Here is my contribution:

I’ve added a simple striped scored background to my little Gingerbread Man card using the Sentsational Stamp set. If you’d like to order any of the products I’ve used to make this cute little card, email me or call me on 0401 857748.

See what else the other girls on the Festive Friday Design Team have come up with.

Happy Stamping,

Festive Friday # 33 Layout Challenge – using up my Designer Series Paper

I’ve been concentrating on using up some of my Designer Series Papers and retiring items this month as I just know when the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue becomes available next month, I’ll neglect all of these papers – and that’s such a shame as they are SO YUMMY!  Look at this Designer Series Paper (background) and the sentiment, both are retiring and will be unavailable for purchase after this month.

Nicole has set the girls and myself on the Festive Friday Design Team a Layout challenge this week. Here is the layout:

Have you ever got a bit ‘stuck’ with your card making? Not sure where to start? A layout challenge is a great way to get rid of any loss of card making mojo. Why not give making a card with this layout a go? Take a photo and send it in to Nicole – she might feature it on her blog or you might even win the weekly challenge? See what the other girls are doing on the Festive Friday site.

I’ve used some more new goodies. Just Add Cake designer series paper (cute!!) and the Pennant Parade stamp set with the co-ordinating punch!!! Got to love a co-ordinating punch – too easy!!! Hope you like!!

Think that might be me for the night….. last card will hopefully happen over the weekend.

Happy Stamping everyone.

Clean & Simple sketch 130

Hi All,

I just love the website called Clean & Simple, which is a sketch challenge website… so I thought I’d have a go myself. It’s actually a bit of a challenge for me to make cards simple …. but I just love the way this one turned out.

Here is the sketch we had to make our card from:

And here is my version. I’ve used the Sweet & Sour DSP – using the gloss side. Versa Mark and the yummy Music Notes Standard Wheel, Scallop Trim Boarder Punch, Lots of Tags Sizzlet Dies and lots of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Satin Ribbon and a button! So pretty.. a little bit Bollywood? LOL.

Challenges are a great way to create cards as the layout is already thought out… then you just play with the colours and products. Why not give it a go yourself?

Email me for any details on the Stampin’ Up! products I’ve used on my card.

**SHARE** I’m still looking for more folk to join us in the Summer Mini Accessories Share.. email if you would like more details or to join in. 🙂

Happy Stamping,

x C
