Stampin’ Up! Gold Sequin Trim Glamour & Mothers Day wishes

Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful Mums.  I hope you got a sleep in and lots of love and hugs.    This is my FAVOURITE part of Mother’s Day – the big all in the bed cuddle (after they eat my breakfast in bed). 🙂

This is me this morning enjoying the Autumn sun and trying out my Mothers Day gifty – gumboots. *love*  It sure does get wet up here in the Adelaide Hills and these beauties will get a good workout.

Why not treat yourself to a little gift and swing by my online store? Check out the Weekly Deals and of course the Clearance Rack which is always being updated.

I was up to the wee hours last night working on a project for a presentation I’m doing a Stampin’ Up! South Pacific Convention… It’s now next week!!!  eeeeekkk! I got a great idea yesterday- at least I thought it was a great idea but then while I was working on it, like most of my ideas it turned into something completely different from what it started as. Am I going to show you???? Nope. Sorry I’m bound to secrecy until after Convention on the 20th to the 24th of May. But if you see me between now and then, I’ll be the one with the bags under my eyes burning the midnight oil.

Here is a little something I can show you. A card I made using my LOVE the Stampin’ Up! Gold Sequin Trim. Who doesn’t love bling right? I’ve teamed it up for a modern feel using the watercolour stamp from the Happy Watercolor stamp set in the Occasions mini. I know, I know, I’m totally wearing that set out!!! Here I’ve used my all time favourite Crumbcake card stock – oh Crumbcake how much do I love The? Let me count the ways. W

Thanks for popping by.

Happy Watercolor – beautiful blue Congratulations

I was a bit chuffed with myself on this one – a card I made for one of my lovely team members Catherine who promoted in Stampin’ Up! last month. Congratulations Catherine. Yay!! My team is happy and fast growing so if you’d like to join in the fun or at least find out what the fuss is about, email me and I’ll send you some information in the post. Easy-peasy lemon squeeze.

I used the beautiful stamp set Happy Watercolor again from Stampin’ Up! Australia’s Occasions Catalogue- and this time in blues and silvers. Lots of sponging on this too – softens up the card and gives it some depth. I personally love Stampin’ Up!’s Sponge Daubers but you could also use our Sponges for a bolder effect.

Remember that Sale-A-Bration is now in it’s last month. Don’t miss out on getting your free product from the Sale-A-Bration range when you purchase $90 worth of Stampin’ Up! goodies. Head to my online store or email me with your order.

Lots of fun things happening this week – so make sure you stay tuned and also head on over and ‘like’ my Facebook page too – I love to chat over there and get to know you all.

It’s so pink & pretty!! – Fringe Scissors & Kindy update

One of my very first purchases out of the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue was the new Fringe Scissors #133325 $16.95 – the possibilities just really appealed to me. A lot of people have said they’ve just totally overlooked them in the catalogue but that’s really a shame as they are F.U.N.

Have a look on page 31 of your Occasions catalogue for the Fringe Scissors. If you don’t have a catalogue and I’m your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator of choice then please send me an email and I’ll post you out one straight away. - Fringe Scissors Stampin' Up!

  • So I’ve used 4 different shades of Stampin’ Up! pinks range here.. Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush and Rose Red.
  • Each strip was 10.5cm wide and 5cm long.
  • I’ve snipped in with the Fringe Scissors until about 1cm from the edge but I’ve not been too ‘perfect’ about it as the top got covered by the piece above.
  • I’ve used my favourite adhesive Multipurpose Liquid Glue to stick it all together and give me a bit of time to position  it all straight before the glue sets. $6.95 #110755.

The lovely ribbon is in Whisper White and called ‘Organza Ribbon‘ #114319 $9.95 for 13.7m.

The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp set and I’ve used the matching Banner Framelits to perfectly die cut it out. You can get these in a bundle in wood for $83.25  #134815 or clear mount $74.95 #134816. When you buy a bundle its a 15% saving.

Kindy update…

So things are MUCH better. If you’ve been travelling the journey with me of my littlest son starting kindy you’ll know it’s been a rocky road. But we finally seem to be getting somewhere. There are now smiles as we head to Kindy and no tears. YAY!!!!

He does still tell me his favourite part of the day was ‘when I picked him up’ but I’m starting to wonder if he’s just toying with me and knows the way to my heart. All my boys (and Husband) are sweet talkers.

I’m so relieved. We just want them to be happy right?

Carolyn’s take on Stampin’ Up! Boho Chic – Ex Libris & Sale-A-Bration Banner Punch

I’m a bit of a hippy chick at heart – love the style Boho Chic  and this got me thinking… is there a Boho Chic style of card making? Here’s my take on Stampin’ Up! Boho Chic card making… Boho chic

My inspirations came from:

  • Indian inspired soft furnishings, satins, and tassels.
  • Rich colours of deep reds, pinks and eclectic patterns … and gold. Gold is really in at the moment and suited this style perfectly used sparingly.
  • I also love that Boho Chic embraces things that are a little worn and comfortable, so I made my card a little distressed and aged looking.

I’ve used a variety current Designer Series Papers from the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue and the Free Sale-A-Bration Flag Punch to create these cute little banners. (Spending $90 at the moment on any Stampin’ Up! products will earn you Free gift with purchase).

The background stamp is the beautiful Ex Libris #131992 wood mount $37.95 & #129496 clear mount $29.95.. and the sentiment is the from the Million & One stamp set #126377 clear mount $22.95 and wood mount #126375 $28.95

I’ve also used to give the aged look the stamp sets Gorgeous Grunge and En Francais.

images-1 Boho chic

I love a good bow and this Chevron ribbon #130012 is beautiful to tie.

Tip – when you’ve trimmed your ribbon tails run a lit match along the cut edge to seal it. Boho chic

This card is for my beautiful big sister Glenys.  It’s her birthday today so I wanted a really pretty inside for the card as well – with still lots of room to write my note. Glenys is also a bit of a hippy chick so I hope she likes this card. Boho chic

So what did my desk look like after I made this card????? Not so good………….. I just hate working in clutter but I was SOOO in the zone that I hardly noticed.

But it couldn’t stay that way for long. I had to clean it up ….. all ready to start again next time. 🙂

So, I used a lot of fun Stampin’ Up! goodies to make this card and I’ve not mentioned all of them – so feel free to email me if you have any questions.

**Remember we’re half way through Sale-A-Bration already… if you’d like to get a group of friends together for a Stampin’ Up! Party it’s not too late or perhaps order from either my online store or by sending me an email  you’ll be able to enjoy a Free gift with purchase with every $90 you spend.

Take a look at the Sale-A-Bration catalogue by clicking on the picture below.

It folds down for easy postage and then pops up and reveals something really special.

Next time I’ll make sure the sentiment is a little smaller so it doesn’t hang over the edge when folded.

Here’s a few of the items I used to make this little cutie:

Stamp Set:

Flower Shop # 130939 Wood mount #130942 Clear mount

Happy Congratulations # 133044 Wood mount #133047 Clear mount

Card Stock: Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper (free with purchase of $90 or more) #133521  Sweet Sorbet

Email if you have any questions about any other items used 🙂

I was thinking this was going to be a really challenging card to make but guess what? Easypeasy. I followed this tutorial from UK Demonstrator Monica Gale who is simply amazing and an all round sweet heart. (If you’re not following her blog you totally should.) Here we are at last years Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation in Utah showing the love.

So this card is actually for my beautiful niece Courtney and her wonderful new fiancée Michael who are starting out their lives together and who got engaged on New Years eve. I wanted to make her something special and therefore this card has taken a little longer then expected (*yikes*) but it is now on it’s way to her in the mail – along with a little gift. 😉 Congratulations Hon!!

Remember it’s Sale-A-Bration time.. any order of $90 or more will earn you a FREE product from the exclusive Sale-A-Bration range. You can either order by emailing me or just head on over to my online store and order there.

Now, I’m off to buy those bubblegum jeans and a hypercolour t-shirt- they’re still trendy aren’t they???? LOL.

The Occasion Catalogue is here and I’m really loving all the new products. As hard as it’s going to be to narrow it down,  I thought I’d share with you My Top 10 Occasion Catalogue Picks.

1. So Very Grateful stamp set #133050 wood mount $39.95. #133053 $31.95 clear mount.

You’ve seem me use it a few times so far and have lots of more ideas for this one. So beautiful to colour but also versatile – and I really like that in a stamp set. It earns it’s keep.

2. Fringe Scissors #133325 $16.95

Use them for making flowers or grass or embellishing boxes – I’m looking forward to finding lots of fun uses for these. Who can have enough scissors??

3. Gold Sequin Trim #132983 $8.95

Oh bling bling bling. Wow factor with minimal effort or cost.

Bundle stamp set and Framelits: Wood mounted #134815 $83.25. Clear mounted #134816 $74.75 . The stamp set and framelits  are also sold separately as well.

5. Spiral Flower Die #129379 $29.95

You’ve already seem me use them for next week’s class (have you booked in yet??)… love the ease and beauty. Takes all the hard work out of making handmade flowers. I’m looking forward to trying this with felt too.

6. Abersand Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #132970 $13.95

It’s on trend and it’s F. U.N. With the ‘&’ (that’s what an abersand is by the way – yes I learn’t something new) being such a big format the cards can be simple and really young and cute.

7. Mini Memories Simply Created Album kit #133332 $23.95

Stamp set #133188 wood mount $51.95 #133191 clear mount $41.95. Note cards & Envelopes #133362 $22.95

Ok so I’m being a bit cheeky here as that’s actually 2 items. But they work really so well together  and I couldn’t resist. The Note cards (20 printed cards and envelopes) are all ready for you to just stamp and little message on. Truly you will wow your friends (they are going to think you’re an artist!! LOL). The Happy Wonder stamp set is lovely.*sigh* and a mix of modern and natural stamps makes it great for a variety of recipient age groups.

9. Scallop Tag Topper Punch #133324 $39.95

I’ve been speaking to lots of mum’s – especially school aged kids and they are telling me that tags are all the go to add to gifts for their kids friends birthday. Quick and easy. I also like that a tag can really make a gift of cookies or a block of chocolate look like something AMAZING.

Happy Congratulations & Why are my team are called the Midnight Inklings?

When I started with Stampin’ Up! as a Demonstrator I joined just like so many other people for the great 20% discount on all the products. Little did I know it would give me such a wonderful opportunity to meet so many new friends – stampers & paper crafters, customers, fellow demonstrators and a really special and growing group of ladies – my fabulous team the Midnight Inklings. I’m really so very lucky. My team the Midnight Inklings are such a great bunch of ladies.

I wanted to show you a card I made for a couple of the team this last month who promoted within Stampin’ Up! I really enjoyed making this card. I’ve used the stamp set Happy Congratulations  (# 133044 $28.95 wood mount and #133047 $22.95 clear mount)from the new Occasions Catalogue  it might just be my current favourite.

Image 2

Here I’ve used a water colouring technique where I’ve first stamped the outline image with Staz-On black ink then added the coloured lantern image onto the water colour paper. I’ve then spritzed water on the image and it’s then run in I think a really soft and beautiful way. I’ve added a bit of 2-Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The colours I’ve chosen are directly from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.

Now a few of you have been asking why my team is called the Midnight Inklings? Well when I started with Stampin’ Up! (almost 5 years ago) I had 2 children under 4 and another soon on the way. The ONLY time I could stamp in any peace and quiet was burning the midnight oil late at night. When the first of my team started to join we found that we were all in the same boat – thus the Midnight Inklings. While my children are now 9, 6 and almost 4.. I still find I stay up really late at night stamping in peace. When is your favourite time to craft? I’d love you to leave a comment and tell me.

This made me laugh and really resinated with me as a Midnight Inkling.
